Hi, I'm Debbie. I'm an expert seamstress who has been sewing for my own children for the last 10 years! I set up my successful small business 'Lola-Pops' from my kitchen table whilst on maternity leave and have grown the business to what it is today!

Sewing has had such a positive impact on my life, especially in those early days of motherhood when you are juggling it all. Sewing gave me an escape, some ‘Me Time’ and massively helped to improve my mummy mental health, as being a mum can be really hard at times can’t it?

The course will be delivered through a mixture of LIVE and pre-recorded sessions. All tutorials and live recordings will be uploaded saved into the Baby Wardrobe Portal where you will have life time access to this course and be able to watch them back at any time.

Sewing Kit Prep/Shipping: WC 14th July
Receive the form to tailor your sewing kit. Choose girl/boy/unisex fabrics and leave the rest to This Mummy Sews. Your kit will be prepared and shipped to you along with all the patterns this week.
Week 1 - WC 21st July
The basics from threading your machine, all the stitches you'll need and the techniques you'll need to practice through the course. The week you will make a pin cushion.
Week 2 - WC 28th July
Pattern Week! Learn about about pattern, the sewing jargon, tracing, pattern placement and how to cut your fabric with confidence. This week you will make an accessory of your choice.
Week 3 - WC 4th August
Harem Pants - the number one wardrobe staple that you will be making in every fabric and size for years to come!
Week 4 - WC 11th August
Rompers - the most adorable item to include in your baby's wardrobe. We'll be looking at new techniques this week including lining a bodice.
Week 5 - WC 18th August
Tshirts - Another absolute staple to include in your sewing repertoire and this will soon become one if your favourite makes. We'll be tackling neckbands this week which aren't as scray as you think.
BONUS SESSION: Pattern hack session on how to turn this simple tshirt pattern in to a dress! 🥳
Week 6 -WC 25th August
Leggings - A new style of bottoms but of so trendy! This week we will be focusing on elastic and how to do 2 different variations of an elasticated waistband.

FAQ's
Are the sewing tutorials LIVE or Recorded? - All the sewing tutorials will be pre-recorded to there's no pressure to turn up to the sessions live as I totally understand how unpredictable juggling a little one can be. You can access all the tutorials and sessions in your own time, even if you only watch each session in short stints. This course is completly flexible to work around you and your baby's needs.
Will there be additional support sessions or Q&A sessions through the course? - Yes absolutely. There are 3 LIVE Q&A sessions planned throughout the 6 week course. These sessions are there for you to come along for extra help and support if there's anything you are unsure about or you have any questions about any of the items we are creating on the course. These sessions will usually be 20-30 minutes long.
What if I can't attend the LIVE Q&A sessions? - This is no problem at all. All Q&A sessions will be recorded and will be uploaded into the course portal within 24 hours so you can complete the lesson in your own time and when it's convenient for you. There will also be a form for you to submit any questions you have for me to answer during the session if you are unable to make it live.
What do I get inside the sewing kit? - The sewing kit will contain enough fabric (approx 2-3m) to complete all 6 items that are covered on this course (pin cushion, accessory, harems, romper, t-shirt, leggings). The fabric inside the kit will be stunning high quality stretch cotton jersey in a variety of prints and colours. You will receive a form to tailor your sewing kit and you can specify of you's like fabrics suitable for boy/girl/unisex and you can also indicate the size/age of the child you are sewing for.
